Vernors is a Michigan original. Created by Detroit pharmacist James Vernor, this ginger soda has a loyal cult following. On episode #57, I tasted the version with sugar. NuGrape has a long history going back to the early 1900s. The National NuGrape Companyw as based in Atlanta. In the 1960s, it was bought by Moxie and, in the 1990s, Big Red bought both NuGrape and Nesbitt’s from Monarch Beverage Company, which is what The Moxie Company had become. Are you a NuGrape fan?
