On June 20, 1919, the city of Lodi, CA played host to a parade honoring World War I veterans. Roy Allen set up a roadside drink stand to sell what would become A&W Root Beer. After experiencing some success, Allen took on a partner, Frank Wright and, in 1922, introduced the A&W brand name, for Allen and Wright. Today it is one of the most widely known root beer brands.

About time you got to A&W! (kidding). It’s probably my favorite drink, period. I like rootbeer in general and A&W is the best. If you can find an actual A&W, try it from the tap, it’s even better. Though I don’t know why (nostalgia? fond memories? lol). And thanks for the shout out ;)
My pleasure, Chrispian. :) May have to try that some day! Would make for a fun review.
Thanks,
Patrick
I like aw root beer it has a buttery finish best in a a&w store.
Cool, Neil. :) Thanks for watching.

Hi Patrick, enjoyed your site. A&W has long been my favorite but I will settle for stewarts if not available and if I have to I will drink Barqs. I have to tell you to chill the rootbeer in the refrigerator and freeze the mug in the freezer for a day. Fill the mug with rootbeer and wait to drink when the ice forms on top. This will give a more satisfying flavor and that root beer bite so many of us enjoy. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment, John. I taste the soda in the manner that works for me, that allows me to produce the show on a regular basis and taste it comfortably, so that I can consider it in the proper light. I appreciate it.
